Having lived in different cultures as an expat for over 20 years has taught me to appreciate the diversity out there and, perhaps more importantly, to realize that the world is so much bigger than the sandbox we live in here in Sweden. Another meaningful thing I have learned from my time abroad is that we human beings are more alike than we are different, only really separated by the human (and, relatively speaking, quite recent) construct of language. 

 

But, however divisive it might be, languages also connects us.

As such I recognize the need to be "met and held" in the language that is most comfortable to us - especially in processes like this where we intend to dive deep and really transform our lives.
